I planned on writing more on this but latest reports say Steve Wynn's next big thing might not be complete until 2021 so this is a work in progress.
The plan for Wynn's "Paradise Park" was announced over a year ago and revisited in Mr. Wynn's latest quarterly report phone conference. It has yet to be named (officially) but the details are pretty huge.
Basically a 1600ft by 700ft luxury lagoon. In fact that will be my name for it, "Luxury Lagoon".
A 47 story tower built between the Encore and Wynn containing a Casino, restaurants, 1500 room hotel as well as retail and convention space.
Estimated to start at around 1.5 Billion dollars the Lagoon/Park will have activities from boardwalking to boating. Wynn has his sight set (no pun intended) on great things for this massive backyard project. Carnivale style parades with a dozen 30 foot floats. Each float being themed from King Kong to The Devil something akin to the Tournament of Roses Parade but edgier. There will be a "Midway" and mile long Boardwalk leading to the 103 foot carousel with center bar.
Don't forget about bumper cars, zip lines, fireworks or the 30,000 square foot open air pavilion.
For the most part the Golf Course will be sacrificed but Wynn says he is setting aside 40-60 acres for future development plans.
There was so much exuberance in Mr. Wynn's descriptions I had to go back and listen to certain parts over incase I missed something.
As the earnings call ended I was feeling as excited as Steve sounded. I'm always pro-growth especially on the Strip and look forward to following this development closely.
The last tee times are set for the 22nd of December and the entire endeavor could take over 4 years but "a lot of this stuff will come on within 18, 19 months, hopefully." So that gives me about 5 more trips until I need to finish this article.
