Oscars Beef Booze and Broads, brought to you by the ex-mayor of Las Vegas Oscar Goodman. A subtle throwback to the classic steak house Las Vegas was known for.
The atmosphere is old school Vegas and the staff are all very friendly. The Lounge opens at 4p and they have Happy Hour until 7p with a special lounge menu. I think I've had each item on that menu but my favorites are the crab cakes and the meatballs. There is plenty of small private lounge tables near the windows if you dont want to sit at the bar. I like to chat with the bartenders who are full of "local" information. The restaurant opens at 5p closes at 11p every day. I always suggest making reservations just to be safe. Ask for a window seat it really does adds a lot to the experience. Oscar's hostesses double as "broads" who come around to tables and offer conversation and stories of nostalgia. Its cheesy but if your not looking for them you might not even notice. Some must try items are the 14oz strip (I like mine med rare), Carolyn's Cut Prime is delicious and inexpensive at $34, the aforementioned crab cakes can not be beat, hands down the best I've ever had, and their chopped salad is a favorite of mine as well. The prices are right on if not a bit lower then par for this style steakhouse (remember you are in Vegas). I cant recall a single item on their menu I did not agree with. The service and class of this restaurant has been constantly top notch since they opened in 2011. I like the huge open look into their wine room and the walk way in to the hostess stand has great pictures of Oscar in his hay-day as mob lawyer and later as mayor of Sin City. I visit Oscars every trip, if for nothing else then Happy Hour drinks and crab cakes. I'm glad it landed at an Icon like The Plaza. Can't say enough good things about this place.
