Before I get started I want the reader to know and understand I am a HUGE baseball fan and have stood in line to meet Pete Rose before so that was part of the appeal to me on trying this place, plus its a new bar and I always like to try new bars.
Pete Rose has opened a new restaurant and bar right there on the strip.
Pete Rose Sports bar and Grill is directly underneath Chili's, across the street from Gucci and Dolce & Gabanna. (street level) I guess its official known as the Hawaiian Market place.
I am a fan. I think its in a great spot and i hope they do very well there.
My first, visit was on an early Monday afternoon so it wasn't packed but still very cool and seemed like a very fun place to catch a game or just sit at the bar.
They have a long out side patio in front, that is perfect for people watching and enoying food or drinks in the sun just steps from Las Vegas Blvd. I chose to sit inside at the bar because it was a little cold out and it just so happened Pete Rose was having an early lunch or very late breakfast as i walked in.
With memorabilia (mostly his own) everywhere and autographed baseballs bats hats and pictures from around the MLB on every wall I really liked the feel in there. Tons of tv's in the dining area as well as at the bar makes it a great place to catch a game, or just chill. The waitress was a little on the "blonde" side but thats fine she was good looking and suggested an awesome burger/beer combo I really enjoyed. I had the turkey burger which was delicious and it came with seasoned curly style fries but they were thicker then most curly fries and larger. I almost couldn't eat all my food, (ALMOST). I had a huge beer as well since it was some sort of happy hour at close to noon. It was maybe 5 bucks and the food prices weren't as outrageous as you would think. SEE MENU here.
I sat at the bar (corner) with my back to the Hawaiian Market side entrance and right of the patio entrance out front. I checked out the patio area and it's very cool as well. It's raised about three or four feet off the strip so you feel a little privacy as you watch people gawk at the amazing architecture across the road. Back inside i like the ceiling painted as baseballs with red seams. The layout of the restaurant area was conventional but separated from the seating at the bar with additional standing or sitting benches close to the memorabilia wall. All in all it was a great experience at Pete Rose Sports Bar and Grill. Which (BTW) I suggested, in a tweet, that he change the name to "Charlie Hustle's".
