I suppose the crowds around Fremont Street will be immense again this weekend with 80's reminisce-rs and fanatics.
I think its "totally awesome" the way they are trying to celebrate the 80's. I have always (after the eighties) been an 80's enthusiast
How do you know if you are an 80's enthusiast? Well if any of the following phrases spark memories (pleasant or other) you could be an 80's lover.

It was the era of......Goonies, Gremlins, Griswold’s, and Fast Times. We had mullets and side ponies and huge bangs, high tops and no socks. We felt "Hungry like a Wolf", or "Like a Virgin", Walked like Egyptians, and we would "Jump" to songs on the radio. Old ladies yelled "where the beef"? and "I’ve fallen and cant get up", between Silver Spoons, Facts of Life, Good Times, and Different Strokes. The Dukes of Hazard, A-Team and Incredible Hulk were all wanted for crimes they didn’t commit and we loved REAL Saturday morning cartoons full of un-real violence and actual humor. After school we enjoyed Smurfs before the movie, GI Joe before the movie, Transformers before.....Well, you get the picture. We didn’t know what reality shows were yet, but we had host named Chuck Woolery and Wink Martindale running game shows like Newlywed Game, $100,000 Pyramid, Card Sharks and Family Feud.
The songs weren’t the best but you could understand the meaning and appreciate that. You can’t help but sing every lyric to those songs when you here them at a wedding or a tribute show like the one down on Fremont this summer.
Saturday Wang Chung will be appearing for there part in the 80's tribute and It made me feel proud and excited, kind of like solving the Rubiks Cube for the first time. Proud to have been a part of that awesome era and excited that so many others feel the same way. As for the Fremont Street Experience it wasn't even there when I was in High School (late Eighties) but they will be hosting a great 80's band Saturday and I think all you 80's SPAZOIDS should head down there and Wang Chung Tonight..... Here is more on WANG CHUNG and More on Downtown and Fremont Street.
